Two Voices On The Hudson

After watching some of the  interviews of the survivors of the "Miracle on the Hudson" flight I was struck by one gentleman's comments: "it was like I was listening to two voices," describing what was going on in his mind just before impact with the water.

He went on to say that one voice was preparing him for the worst - death and never seeing his family and friends again; the other voice was calming him, assuring him that everything  was going to be fine.
