The menu for addictions here on planet earth reads like a Chinese restaurant menu:
Drugs, Sex, Alcohol, Shopping, Plastic Surgery, Video Gaming , Eating, Gambling, Working, Exercise, Drama, Cleanliness, Worry, Power
Etc., etc., etc.
For every Tiger Woods, there's a few billion other men who secretly numb their pain through sex.
For every Heidi Montag, there are thousands of other women going for double DD's, hoping they'll be more attractive to themselves and others.
For every Mel Gibson, there are millions of others who have chosen alcohol to make life a little more tolerable.
Addictions are merely a coping mechanism that has taken root in the consciousness of the individual. Some can manage and hide their addictions, others get their penis "caught in the cookie jar."
Every one of us, somewhere along the journey, have allowed something to be our narcotic - we've chosen something to deaden the pain of living with too little love.
So before you point an accusing finger at Tiger or Heidi, take a look in your own mirror and see what you've selected from the addiction menu. Check in with how your addiction affects your life and start looking for a different menu...
I highly recommend the menu of Love - now serving forgiveness, compassion, love, understanding and even egg rolls!
